Psychological safety at the workplace – the Centre for Occupational Safety is publishing a handbook on working together
Working Together: A Handbook, published by the Centre for Occupational Safety, helps to build a psychologically safe workplace. The handbook offers methods and instructions for a variety of workplace situations, allowing everyone’s voice to be heard and everyone’s common interest to be promoted in an atmosphere of encouragement and appreciation.
Psychological safety is one of the key factors contributing to productive and fruitful work. The handbook covers familiar workplace situations, such as orientation training, identification of hazard and workload factors and the processing of employee survey results.
The handbook offers tips for new and experienced supervisors alike. The methods are categorised according to the time required for preparation and implementation, which makes using them flexible and applicable to many different situations.
“Working Together: A Handbook provides guidance for a variety of situations. Whether you are a new or experienced supervisor, you can find a method that suits you,” says Seija Moilanen, Senior Specialist at the Centre for Occupational Safety.
The handbook is available free of charge for workplaces to use, and it is available in Finnish at ttk.fi/yhdessa-tekemisen-kasikirja (in Swedish at https://ttk.fi/sv/publikation/handbok-for-att-arbeta-tillsammans/(you will be directed to another service) and in English at https://ttk.fi/en/publication/working-together-a-handbook/(you will be directed to another service)). The handbook has been translated into Swedish and English to make it accessible to as many workplaces as possible.
